Algebraic Structures is a fundamental course for undergraduate students in Mathematics and Mathematics Education programs, where group theory concepts often present challenges due to their abstract nature. This study aims to examine the role of GAP (Groups, Algorithms, and Programming) mathematical software as a computational tool for supporting the exploration and verification of group theory concepts. This research employs a literature review methodology by analyzing relevant studies on computer algebra systems and mathematics learning, followed by a computational demonstration using GAP to solve group theory problems. The findings show that GAP can generate Cayley tables and verify group axioms, including closure, associativity, identity, and inverse elements. The computational results are consistent with manual calculations while providing systematic and accurate procedures. This study concludes that GAP provides valuable computational support for visualizing and analyzing abstract algebraic concepts, particularly in the context of group theory learning.
